The Eunuch is Pregnant: Chapter 157

To my dear readers,

No, I haven’t translated Chapter 157 yet. I’m just so tired….

The aggregator sites managed to steal 156 even though I tried to confuse them. (I think I managed to confuse readlightnovel.org though) So, this time, I’m posting this without linking anything. I have a feeling the bots need a certain number amount of words before they “steal”. Last time, my teaser was too short, so they knew it wasn’t the chapter and waited or something.

This time, I am not linking them to anything, so good luck with that.

I’m just going to make this announcement super long so they think this is the chapter itself.

Some of you might think, “Grace, why are you doing this? Aren’t you doing the same thing by stealing the author’s work and making money off her?” In my defense, it is not because I do not want to contact the author and want to hog all the money for myself. If I could actually find her real contacts, I would try to set up something so that we can both make money. For example, I would give 50% of all my earnings to the author if we were to sell ebooks. Because, without her work, there would be no translations. Likewise, without me, there would be no English version (unless someone else translated it).

The problem is, I don’t know which site is the real site. If my stuff is being stolen by 20+ sites, her Chinese version is being stolen by 100+ Chinese sites. So, I gave up the idea of trying to sell ebooks.

Since I am not selling anything (I’m translating this for free. No one is paying me to do it. This means, you get chapters regardless if I get any donations or not. No one is buying anything.), I feel like it is ok for me to translate this. It’s practically volunteer work. I’m retelling the story in another language so more of you can enjoy it.

But when I see the aggregator sites copying my exact translations and making money off doing NOTHING, it drives me nuts.

Seriously, novelonlinefree has already taken over 350k+ views from me (and that’s just one site alone). In fact, it’s ranked even higher on google search than my actual site.

I just can’t accept it.

I know I don’t have the rights to translate the story, but I can’t accept people copy and pasting my stuff either. (I do not copy and paste the author’s work. Translating is so freaking hard, I’m not even joking. Sometimes, I spend 10 minutes translating ONE sentence.)

So, I’m going to keep making things difficult for the aggregators. I know it is very troublesome for you guys, and I do feel bad for giving you false hope that a new chapter is released, but I just can’t let it go.

I have to make it so that other readers from aggregator sites have no choice but to read on my site. It’s either me or nothing.

If they can’t stand me, they can drop the novel.

I know a lot of them want to read on the aggregator sites because it’s easier to read since all the novels are on one site. But if they bookmark my site, it’s only a few extra clicks. It only takes a few more seconds of their time.

I don’t know if some of you are aware, but I pay to keep this site running. I was using the free wordpress before. My original site is liveandlearn88.com. But because I chose to translate this novel, all my ads were banned since the wordads crawlers thought my content was too inappropriate. That is why I had to buy another domain and self host here.

I thought by removing this novel from my previous site, I could get the ads back. But wordpress.com pretty much gave me $0.88 for 100k views and I just gave up. Now, my original site has no ads and I just post inspirational things or some personal experiences on it. Feel free to check it out. I wrote about “The Art of War” & I have posts like “How to tell when a shy girl likes you” lol

Anyhow, I promise I will continue to translate this until Leng Jun Yu discovers Le Yao Yao is pregnant (Chapter 155 of the raws. We’re only on chapter 118… it’s going to take a long LONG time because some chapters are over 10k words…). But I’m not sure if I will have the willpower to finish the novel. I will try, but I don’t know if I would be able to carry on until the very end because I feel like I’m going to tip over any minute.

I’m just taking one step at a time so I can get myself closer towards the finish line.

I know I have a lot of supporters and I don’t want to let you guys down. Thank you for all your comments. I read them all even though I may not respond to them all. Come back in a day or two for the next chapter.

Thank you for reading this long rant. Maybe the aggregators will assume this is the chapter itself.

By the way, I released a chapter yesterday, so I am only releasing 2 more this week. But if you want to win a chapter for Chinese New Year, do the quiz on volare. The question is so easy. I can’t believe only 42% of the participants got it right so far. lol

Which of the following occurred in the novel of “The Eunuch is Pregnant”?
A. Le Yao Yao had a nosebleed and splattered it all over the King of Hell’s “bird”
B. Le Yao Yao sucked on the King of Hell’s “bird”
C. B only
D. A and B

I guess a lot of participants didn’t read the novel.

P.S. Thank you for all the submissions for the art contest! I have 6 now. You have until February 14th to submit. If you’re interested, instructions are on Chapter 150 announcement post.

  1. There is actually no need to even bookmark. Just go to NU…with regards eunuch, they actually have no decently decent reason to go to the aggregator…

    1. Thank you so much for your translation….
I konw how hard to translate a story, and how sad, disapointment if someone steal your baby(translation)….I hope they realise what their wrong…fighting!!!

      1. The thing is, some of these people don’t know NU is an option- if you type in free light novel, an aggregator website is the first search result. Also if you type in free novel online. When I first started I thoughttranslators put their work out on these websites out of their own volition. It’s pretty hard to tell it’s a copy website, especially since they even have their own copyright clause on the website. It doesn’t look scummy at all- which makes it all the more scummy.

  2. Thank you for the translation. I think the answer is D, I remember she did do B in the book and c is the same as B. I remember nosebleed but not sure if it splatted on the bird LoL. I hope you will be able to finish the novel.

    1. Well its D…
A can’t be forgotten…the title “fire bird” literally killed me XDXD
ah to think that my not so innocent mind thought of a phoenix…
      and B unfortunately wasn’t explicit Q_Q,damn …
I wanted to have a nosebleed too…why skip it Q_Q
      world so cruel >.<"!!
Well talking about the serious topic…its not my first time reading about people
stealing translation from the translator site, and its so sad that people do not appreciate
the translator effort and kindness to do something for free…
I read stories from watpad too and I have noticed that there you can't copy and paste the text,
maybe you can do something like this or directly post on watpad…
      I can only suggest this…Q_Q
hope people would stop being so hateful, but it's a kind of a hopeless hope…
Anyway thanks for your effort and don't get frustrated too much just make your imagination
work and think about ways to get revenge!!!(or you can read a novel about a OP protagonist who gets
revenge…ah absolutely avoid the long ones…they is a torture of your poor mind before you are finally liberated )

      1. OMG… I totally didn’t notice the chapter title was “Fire Bird”, that makes it 100% better! (or worse. XD )

I hope this gets more views for you on your real site. We <3 you!

      1. It is messy, and might make readers unhappy but I’ve recently checked at least five websites with my book and they hadn’t updated any of my changed chapters, so it works in my eyes. My views with up about 2 thousdand in two days. It was quite shocking.
But hey, just trying to help uh 🙂

        1. Thank you. I will keep it in mind. I am probably just gonna link all my blog posts since the aggregator opened my link and automatically assumed it was the chapter. I have over 100 blog posts written from the past and they can help me promote lol

  3. There is a site that no matter i try to tap.. it won’t highlight. It wouldn’t let me copy either. The thing is… i hv forgotten which site it was or the name of the novel. Maybe after i find the site again… i will let you know. Probably between translators, you can dig the secret.

  4. It’s bad enough that they take without permission, but dang! They still continue to do so even with all the warnings ?

Ey, I kinda discovered this novel through that questionnaire, so I definitely got that wrong. Damn it! (Been ignoring this novel before since I thought it was yaoi, haha ?)

Good luck translator-san. Although things look dire, I bet karma will repay them ten-fold!

  5. Lol, I took a look at a bunch of the aggregator sites, and they all just copied this announcement and posted it as 157.

So it’s obvious that they’re not manually reading and copying.

Hey, I wonder… if you posted the chapter as a comment in the comment section, if they would be smart enough to steal that?

  6. Do people actually bookmark?
I just make an account on NU and make reading lists. It’s even more convenient on those aggregator sites because NU lets me check off chapters I’ve already read. Plus, I can make multiple reading lists- this means a list for books I’ve already read, ones that I dropped, one that I want to read, ones that I REALLY want to read, and ofc ones that I’m currently reading. I’m also able to order the books how I like. For example- they are alphabetically ordered for the reading list with books I’m currently reading and ordered by date for books I want to read (in order to see which novel updates more).

Honestly, NovelUpdates is so convenient idk why anyone would choose an aggregator website. Plus, the range of selection is wider and sometimes an aggregator website can’t pick up every part of a translation (some people, like you, would screenshot paragraphs and the websites can’t do much about it). Also, updates are faster

I have a suggestion too! Send pointless links and give us a real link (but don’t actually link it… like translate it from ASCII (English alphabet and symbols + numbers) to Binary or hex or something so us readers can translate that link and THEN input it into our address bar to get to the real link xd

  7. Maybe upload the chapters as screenshots? I dont think anyone would mind and it shouldnt be too much more trouble (i think)….. we really hope you’ll continue translating 🙁

    1. Novelplanet steals the screenshots as well so it doesn’t make a difference. It does work for some sites though.

It’s okay. I will think of something.

  8. These have probably been mentioned before but I’ll give it a shot anyway. Have you looked into using one of those “click the checkmark” captchas? I don’t know how well the bots are programmed to deal with those. It wouldn’t take too much time or effort for your readers to get past.

Another idea is to put them behind a simple password wall. So you just give your readers a simple password to fill in each chapter and it could do something like Qidian’s ad wall (where the text just pops into existence after you skip the ad).

I don’t know how easy to implement or effective these will be though. GL and thanks for enduring your frustrations so far.

  9. Why don’t you take a rest author, at least for the meantime? Idk if my prev comment helped but keep fighting, maybe I’ll have the comment box filled with PLEASE READ AT EUNUCH.COM on those aggregator sites

    1. I might go on a break in a few weeks. I really want to at least get to the part when Le Yao Yao gets discovered though. I feel bad because it’s been so long and my readers have been waiting and anticipating for such a long time. Thanks for your comment. Don’t forget the “theeunuch” lol… and they will remove the links so u have to space between . com or just say DOT com.

The aggregator sites won’t let me link any of my sites (automatic removal or they just wouldn’t approve my comment).

P.S. I’m not the author. I’m only the translator. However, I do modify the original so it is not the same as the raws. The raws is too repetitive and draggy. I only add some adjectives to stir more emotions and imagination. The author is the one who came up with the story.

  10. I feel bad that you have to deal with this. Having your work stolen is awful. Happened to me and a couple of buddies before, and they ripped off the whole original content from our website. Our admin sent a cease and desist notice to them to take it down. Do they also take content from other sites like volare?

Thanks for all the hard work you’ve done for The Eunuch. I’m sure all your readers here at your site appreciate all your efforts though i feel about the ensuing headache in dealing with those sites. You could prolly reach out to other independent translators and send out a request with all of them signing it ir something. And also, can these sites be reported for stealing content? I’ll also update you once i find out more. Good luck, gchan!

    1. lol I’m actually a volare translator. Check out “Supernatural Girlfriend”! Haha. I have connections with many Wuxiaworld translators and Volare translators, and I’m definitely not the only one who gets my content stolen. Most of them just tell me to ignore it because there is nothing I can do. My boss (the founder of Volare) DMCAs the sites that are hosted in the States. But sites that are hosted in Asian countries or other countries do not have the same regulations so it’s pretty much impossible to get them to stop.

The reason why this translation is not on volare is because my boss wasn’t able to get the rights for this novel and it’s too inappropriate for volare. I was stubborn and decided to translate it anyway, so I hosted it on my own. Many translators told me to not translate this because it’s so niche. Haha. It’s risky. But my fan base for this novel is steadily growing. Thank you for reading.

  11. How about considering to post your translation at steemit.com? It’s free, has no limit of quota because it’s using blokchain technology and you’d definitely get payment for every upvote(like) you got. 100 % upvote from me alone you’d get roughly 1,8 USDollar (in form of crypto currency Steem), and I’m not even a whale there. Since a year ago I practically never updated my WordPress anymore and only write in steemit. plagiarism is strictly forbidden, so if one does it, one will be flagged. But since it would be obvious that you wrote it first (Each things got in blokchain will never be deleted, even if you delete it from your blog, so it’s possible to always track who wrote something fpr the first time).
But this way it’s also better if you at least get a consent of the authors. I know a translator who always wrote an Email from the authors and only translate a novel consented by the authors.
My suggestion is for a higher safety for you, because there is a possibility that you would really earn a lot in this platform, so it’s possible that somebody with copy rights might not be happy with it ?.
If you only want doing a Hobby and get more popularity, at the moments is word press in deed the best option, because steemit is still new, approximately 2,5 years old. But if you want a side job with this, well really earn something worthy, then steemit is much better than word press. Chinese community is already quite huge there.

    1. BTW… You can also double post your translation anyway in WP for the time being until you’re popular in steemit, or simply put the link in WordPress for your audiences who haven’t known that you moved.

    2. Wow. Thank you for letting me know about this. I’ll take a look. I don’t want to make a lot of money from the author’s work if I cannot give her any of the profits. I have never heard of this site before. I’ll check it out.

      1. You could just try it out, as it’s free anyway. It will also take a while until you earn much from this there, but for sure it’s faster than writing in other platforms where you could only earn something after certain amount of readers based on advertisement income or from donation. Your reader in steemit could support you and give you income without losing anything and for every vote you give, you’d get curation reward as well. 1 Steem now has a value of 4.18 USD.
There is still a possibility that the authors could give you consent, if they don’t actually plan to publish an official English version of the novel anywhere.
So far it’s not likely to happen with this one, right?
In steemit you only have 14 days for each article to get reward. The votes coming after 14 days wouldn’t be rewarded anyway, so it’s not that you’d get unlimited income possibility from it. However it’s still quite good income ?. Looking forward to read the next chapter soon.
        Thanks for the effort.

        1. Thank you so much. I’ll definitely look into it! I am a total noob when it comes to cyptotechnology. lol. I tried reading about blockchains and have no idea how it works. I just know that bitcoin is worth so much now and it’s a bit insane!! I’ve already released the full Chapter 157.

  12. Aww,pkease take some time if it’s really needed! We will definetly wait for you,but please don’t stop translating this novel. I know toy are so frustrated and exhausted because of stealer sites and I understand that it drops your will power to the ground. But please, please consider don’t giving up. We love and support you so much,so even though I would be very sad if you would’ve given up,that’s okay too. Still, just know that I love how you dedicate yourself in this work. Stay healthy and safe. Relax a bit gurl. Make some tea or coffee, listen to your fav songs,do some skin care, sleep, and watch your fav tv series. Take care please~

  13. So it’s a work of the bots? Maybe post a chapter translated by google translator, then update again with yet another google translated chapter and in the meantime switch the previous one ? Unless those bots take edits into consideration as well… I get your updates because I subscribed through your comment section~
Again, thanks for your hard work ?

    1. Yeah, the aggregators steal from thousands of novels. So they will not do it manually. I might just post a google translated chapter and then replace it with the real chapter later on. We’ll see.

  14. DEFINITELLY THE CORRECT ANSWER IS “A”!
Damnn gurl, i think that you should put something like a patreon and put there unedited chapters like other translators do :c, try to queue up a little of chapters (even if it makes us get 1 chap each week for a while) until you get like 20+ on your patreon and then start publishing here like you do normally, but keeping that 20+ diference between sities. Also warning about aggregator sities.
You will get $ from the ppl watching here and from the patreon.
It’s the only way i think, i mean, i would get in bad mood if my drawings are everywhere without credit or ppl are stealing and something like that, but i can only warning about it, watermark things, etc..

Good luck with it :_>, maybe you can’t stop aggregator sities, but you can stop people or do something to make it to not affect you. I think.

    1. Haha. The answer is not A! 😛 Thanks for your suggestions though. I’ll see. Patreon is a great way to make money but I don’t want to make it seem like people can only read if they pledge to me. Obviously, I want money and support, but I don’t want to turn into a greedy monster haha.

We’ll see. I’m going to take a break soon because I’m too tired.

      1. I see, but is not like you’re a greedy monster, just you need money to run up the site and some of it for you, isn’t it 😛

……….B ANSWER TOO? I DIDN’T REMEMBER THAT SHE SUCKED ON IT?, I MEAN, SHE USED HER HAND BUT ONLY THAT..

    1. Yeah. Some people may not be able to tell whose translations it really belongs too. I can’t tell the difference between the Chinese sites. I don’t know which one is the real one because they all look legitimate and real. So I understand if they didn’t know I’m the real translator. But I kept writing warnings in between my translations, so I assume the readers would’ve tried to research or google at least (to find my real site). It’s obvious I’m the translator if you google because I write so many announcement posts. I even have an “ABOUT ME” page.

  15. I originally was going to pick B since I remember yaoyao having a nosebleed but I thought it was splatter on his thigh, but then I read the answer for C….
It has to be D, right? Lol

Gchan I don’t know how to help you with said sites but I kind of like the ‘post it in the comments section’ idea by someone up there, but I don’t know how will it turn out in terms of codes.
